What is Integrative Hypnotherapy

Integrative Hypnotherapy is an approach to personal change that works with alignment rather than force.
At a basic level, most people already know what they should do. The problem is not a lack of information or motivation—it’s that different parts of the self want different things. When desire, values, and action are out of alignment, life can feel effortful, confusing, or stuck, even when we’re trying hard.

My work starts from this simple but ancient idea:

Human flourishing emerges when desire, ideals, and behavior are in alignment.
Living life should feel fulfilling, frictionless and joyful. When we experience suffering, or a lack of ease in our life- it is likely that our Ideals, Actions, and Desires are not in agreement

How Change Happens

Integrative Hypnotherapy does not rely on willpower, positive thinking, or external pressure. Instead, it works by addressing the structure of the inner experience that drives behavior. Through guided trance, focused inquiry, and symbolic work, we explore:

  • What you actually want (often beneath surface goals)
  • Where internal conflicts or resistance are operating
  • How certain patterns once served a purpose, but no longer do
  • When these dynamics are brought into awareness and reorganized, change often becomes easier and more natural, rather than something you have to constantly push for.
  • Using symbolic systems we can train the unconscious to reorganize and relearn responses to our lives – allowing us to fully reform how we move in the world

Why Hypnosis

Hypnosis is simply a way of working directly with the unconscious—the part of the mind that governs habits, emotional responses, identity, and meaning-making.

In this state, we can:
Access deeper motivations and beliefs
Resolve internal contradictions
Rehearse new patterns of action and response
Integrate insight at an experiential level, not just intellectually

Hypnosis here is collaborative and intentional. You remain aware, engaged, and in control throughout the process.

The Role of Hermetic Philosophy and Magick

In addition to hypnotherapy and coaching, I sometimes draw on symbolic and imaginal frameworks from Hermetic philosophy and ritual practice.
These traditions are not used as belief systems or doctrines, but as practical symbolic languages—ways of giving form to inner experience, intention, and transition. For many people, symbolic or ritual elements make change feel more embodied, meaningful, and real.

What a Session is Like

Generally a session will involve some clarifying on what you feel the issue is, and what change you would like to see in your life. I will use this opportunity to begin to understand and help you see what parts of your mind, actions or desires may be out of alignment. Depending on what needs to be realigned we will likely then use Hypnosis to guide you into a deep trance state where we can begin to remove blockages or reclaim parts of our energy that is trapped in painful memories or fears.
